a city full of arts and cultures heritage. One of the most famous cultures in Jogjakarta is puppet. In this city, there’s a puppet musem called as Kekayon Puppet Museum. Inside the museum, visitors can sightseeing any puppet models from 6th to 20th century. Kekayon Puppet Museum wes established in July 23, 1990 by a doctor named Soedjono Prawirohadikusumo. The museum is taken place at Jl. Raya Yogyakarta – Wonosari Km. 7.

In this museum, visitors will be brought to a series of Indonesian histroy, from ancient times to the proclamation of indepence through a unique video tape.

Lion statue that was put in front of the museum reflects Hindhu and Buddha on the 17th century. On the left corner, there’s a primordial building that tells the visitors about the origin of Indonesian society. Behind the museum, on the left corner, visitors can see “Kartasaru”. It tells the visitors how poet from Surakarta Palace name Yododipuri completed the story of puppet in 18th century.
The greatness of Majapahit in uniting all island in Indonesia, including Malaysia and Thailand was illustrated with Water Tower. Meanwhile, the progress of Islam is illustrated with Kudus Tower.

In the middle of musem, there’s a “Bidadari Falls” which tells the visitors abouth Holland collonialism for almost 350 years.
Apart from that, visitors can see hundred types of puppet inside Kekayon Puppet Museum. According to the Museum rep, this museum is not only aimed to save the ancient culture, but also for reasearch and studying.
